AfriBES - a Socal network of scientific and technical information for Africa on biodiversity and ecosystem services

AfriBes (African Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) has the ambition of becoming a professional social network on biodiversity and ecosystem services for Africa, using brand new technologies in information and communication for collaborative work. The specific objectives of AfriBes are:

  • A better use of the knowledge and information by developing the spirit of collaboration and sharing;
  • Facilitating networking skills through new information and communication technologies;
  • The promotion of South-South cooperation and identify areas where the expertise should be strengthened.

The social network and collaborative internet tools can be checked out on the Afribes website. The current version is still a beta version, with a finalized version being launched during the first semester of 2012. A number of experts have already joined, sharing their publications, events and interest sites. You can also create your own discussion forum. Join us!
